Russian police seize books criticising Putin
Russian police have seized 100,000 copies of a book criticising Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. The book, entitled Putin. Results. 10 years, was being transported by truck when the vehicle was stopped by police in Sankt-Petersburg. The police said the seizure was due to a lack of valid documentation, according to the Interfax news agency.
The book, written by former deputy prime minister Boris Nemtsov and economist Vladimir Milov, questions the ‘myth’ of Putin, blaming him for rampant corruption and growing poverty. ‘We want everyone in the country to know who Vladimir Putin really is,’ Nemtsov said at a recent launch of the book.
